Project Description

With the growing population of the Earth and the consequent ever-increasing, recurring consumption, concepts such as sustainable development, environmental awareness and ecological footprint become increasingly important if we want our planet to be a place to live for future generations. In the age of disposable devices we want to create products that we only need to buy once for a life. All of our products will be created according to three basic design axioms: No moving parts Hermetically sealed structure The lifetime of the components used is at least 100,000 hours / 100,000 cycles

Success Story

We have been working on the idea of the lamp since 2016. Since that we reached a lot of important milestones. Until now we have four working prototypes, but before the lamp prototypes we already created a lot of tests with PCB panels and resins as well. Our first milestone was the production of the first lamp in February of 2018. Of course it was huge, and heavy, but perfect for checking the functionality. After that, every single prototype was smaller, softer and nicer. Climate KIC was an important milestone in our project, we have learned a lot about topics, like marketing and design thinking. The next important step will be the usage of the new control circuit, which will dramatically increase the operation time and light intensity and parallel with that reduces the production costs. We plan to start the sales of the lamp in august of 2019.
