Every scientific investigation starts from the same point, data obtention, and in some sectors like meteorology or earth observation is not an easy task.
The stratosphere is situated between 15 and 50 km above Earth surface, and it provide thousands of opportunities to scientists and engineers to gather data from it to develop new climatological models or to keep an eye on air pollution and quality indexes.
Stratolloon was born with the idea to simplificate the way of obtaining data and perform experiments at high altitude. To do so, we are developing a high altitude unmanned aerial vehicle with an integrated IoT platform, very secure, reusable and environmentally friendly. This system, will work together with a platform to provide real time data from the stratosphere, allowing our customers to forget about the development or operation of devices to obtain this information, simplifying all the process and minimizing the residual waste of this type of investigations.
Since we started Stratolloon, we have been recognized diversely on multiple prizes like: Valencian Community Challenge Winners and Top 10 Worldwide projects in the European Satellite Navigation Contest 2017, first prize in the category Young Project of the VLC Emprén Awards 2019, first prize in the junior category of the 5U CV 2019 competition, first prize for the best Business Project in the StartUPV 2K18 awards.
Also, we were selected as one of the 5 national finalists for the Santander Explorer’s Disruptive technology award in November 2019 after making a pitch in the Financial City of the Banco Santander in Madrid, and thanks to this program we had the opportunity to travel to San Francisco and Silicon Valley and promote there our project. Finally, Stratolloon received the Greenhouse Audience Award – Spain in December 2019 after our participation in the program.
In addition, Stratolloon has been recognized in several media such as Valencia Plaza, El Levante, Las Provincias or even in the Technical University of Valencia press releases.
